Warner Music Group Reports First-Quarter Loss |

Warner Music Group Corp., the world’s third-largest music
company, posted a first-quarter loss Wednesday, hurt by higher expenses and an
impairment charge.
The record company of Led Zeppelin, which was sold by Time
Warner Inc. in 2003, posted a net loss for the quarter ended December 31 or $16
million, or 11 cents a share, compared with net income of $18 million, or 12
cents a share, a year earlier.
“2007 was a challenging year for the recorded music
industry. We recognize that there remains much to be accomplished and are
working towards translating these gains into enhanced value for shareholders,”
said Chairman and Chief Executive Edgar Bronfman Jr. quoted by the Wall Street
Journal.

Coroner Says Cough Syrup And Sleep Apnea Killed Pimp C |

On Monday, Captain Ed Winter of the Los Angeles County coroner's office said that the
death of Pimp C was “accidental”. He cited Promethazine/Codeine syrup
and sleep apnea as factors involved in the death of Chad Butler, the real name
of Pimp C. Winter also revealed that Pimp C's sleep apnea was a pre-existing
health condition.
Pimp C, 33, was found dead on December 4, 2007, in his room
on the sixth floor of the Mondrian Hotel in West
Hollyowood by the L.A. County Fire Department. On December 1, Pimp
C performed a show with labelmate Too Short at the House of Blues in Los Angeles.

Gwen Stefani Is 13 Weeks Preganant |

The famous pop and designer, Gwen Stefani, is 13 weeks
pregnant, the British tabloids claim. If it’s true this will be the second
child for Gwen Stefani and her husband, musician Gavin Rossdale.
Rossdale’s father in-law confirmed the rumor for the
People.com. "They [Stefani and Rossdale] and the whole family are
delighted," Douglas Rossdale said.
Their first child, a boy named Kingston Rossdale, will be two
years old this May. Stefani and Rossdale dated for 6 years before getting
married in September 2002 in London.

Montel to End His Show after Nearly Two Decades |

“The Montel Williams Show” will end its 17-year career on CBS at the end of this season, it was announced Wednesday.
CBS Television Distribution, which syndicates the talk show, announced
on Wednesday that it would stop making new episodes of the program. It
will continue however to provide stations with a full year's worth of
“Best of Montel” broadcasts, in a compilation series.
“We have been honored to have Montel as a part of our family for the
past 17 years, and we're very excited that Montel will live on through
these ‘best of’ episodes,” said John Nogawski, president and COO of CBS
TV Distribution.

Hannah Montana Concert Film Sold-Out |

Turns out, there’s nothing with
"Hannah Montana" in it that won’t sell, as the highly anticipated 3-D
concert film "Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds
Concert," which opens tomorrow, found many parents bemoaning the
limited release and saying that it creates a scarcity of tickets just
like t he live shows.
"Over a thousand showtimes are already
sold out across the country," said Harry Medved of the online ticket
agency Fandango. He said the film has been a top seller since tickets
became available on Dec. 1, and is the best-selling concert film in
Fandango's seven-year history
